Battery Switch Units For Jubilee Line Extension
PB Design and Development, the Bristol based power
specialist, has recently supplied 110V Battery Switch tripping units
for the Jubilee Line Extension Project. The Company worked closely with
Alstom Drives and Controls on the installation, which involved the
installation of units in sixty-three underground sites.
PB Design supplied its 1500 Series of self contained
Constant Voltage Battery Chargers with full monitoring facilities and
low maintenance nickel cadmium cells. The equipment has a design life
in excess of twenty years and has been manufactured in compliance with
the relevant British and International standards, using low smoke and
zero halogen materials.
The company was required to verify the performance of
its equipment by producing computerised statistical evidence on both
reliability and maintenance. The compliance and production of this
project documentation is widely recognised as one of the most demanding
tasks that a major contractor will experience.
